I am pleased to introduce The Handy Kapper!  Originated in Louisville, this fun, easy-to-use game adds another element to the excitement of horse race wagering!  We just completed our first production run on April 11th and I am excited to share this simple system with you.  The Handy Kapper makes it easy for anyone to “Roll Right Into The Winner’s Circle!”.

The idea for The Handy Kapper was first established in 2002 when War Emblem was running to become the 12th Triple Crown winner at the Belmont.  Prior to race day I was talking to some family members that used a dice wagering system to select their horses.  My system, at the time, had not been very successful.  After talking to them, I remember thinking, this will probably never work but I had little to lose.  So I tried it for the day.

On June 8th 2002, we decided to have a Belmont Party and invited several friends to cheer on War Emblem.  I began rolling dice early in the day and rolled a few winners throughout the day but could have never imagined what was about to happen on the Belmont race.  I asked a good friend of mine to roll the dice for the trifecta box wager and after placing the bet on the numbers that were rolled (12, 8, & 5), we looked at the program.  Immediately we thought it was a wasted bet based on their horrible odds, and laughed.  After dismissing the bet, we began watching the race to cheer on War Emblem.  Right out of the gate War Emblem stumbled and proceeded to run a decent race.  He actually led the field for a short period of time, but then our hopes of seeing a Triple Crown Winner diminished.  The next thing I knew two of the horses that I boxed in my trifecta were battling for the lead and Sarava (12) a 70-1 long shot held off Medaglia d'Oro (8) to win the Belmont.  We couldn’t believe what had just happened and we actually had to wait until the race was official before we knew who finished third………..

Over the next several years I told that story probably a hundred times and around the first week of May I would tell it several times a day.  I would always have to show people how I won after telling the story so others could try their luck as well and that is when I decided to create The Handy Kapper!  This easy to use game has already generated a lot of horse racing fans amongst friends and family and I now want everyone to enjoy it on any race day!
